Most of the Samsung phones like S3 and S4 were updated to 4.4.4 last year since they are operated by Sprint, Verizon etc. But their tablets that are running on wi-fi are still running 4.4.2 almost a year later.

And I just talked to customer service after telling me that 4.4.4 was the latest update for my tablet he tells me that they have no idea when I may receive that update.

Hurray Samsung way to go!!

I think Samsung is doing wrong policy practice.
I went here last Saturday to ask fixing may 11 month old Galaxy S5 which its battery charging port got damages thus it's not charging.
First of all, the first impression of getting there and the employees greeting was so poor and unprofessional. As soon as I explained the problem one korean guy told me that if the problem is wearing out, I must pay $65. I was so surprised because I believed the 1 year warranty would cover. Before this phone I used to use iPhone and never had this kind of problem. After all I had no choice but pay $70 (including tax). I hate now all Samsung products and it's services.

We purchased a 40 inch smart tv made by SAMSUNG in Mexico(that should have set off warning bells right there) we also purchased a service contract for four years from square trade which was also a mistake. The tv worked fine for over a year, which is when the manufactureres warranty runs out and then we started having problems with the smart hub acting up with blurry picture when watching streaming vids particulary Amazon prime but also others. Nobody could figure out the problem but the service people sent some parts to the house and a so called tv repairman whose name might or might not have been Baboo who left his father in the car in our driveway while he took our tv apart. Repairman found some weird looking white stains all over the inside of the tv which could only have been done at the factory and proclaimed the tv has water damage. HUH? The tv has never been exposed to water at our house and we got it new in the box. So the square trade people refused to honor their service contract and we are now stuck wit a tv that dosent work as promised. I am pissed at Amazon, Samsung, and the square trade people and will no longer deal with any of them.

Samsung want to sell phones but this Galaxy barely works as a phone - terrible at picking up a signal and the handset swipe to answer calls is variable. my mic broke and i stood in line for a replacement. what little music i could download (rubbish transfer for iTunes) plays poorly even with good headphones. But what I HATE most about Samsung are their useless software products (Hangout, Samsung this, BS Google that) that they won't let me delete. Android apps are "me too"products - they try to copy Apple apps. My worst gripes are that eMail never worked properly, i cannot upload my photos to my Mac (WTF Google cloud?), and it keeps losing my Kindle settings. Samsung SUCKS.

Until last week I sang the praises of Samsung. But in the last week my Samsung Galaxy S3 charging port failed and our Samsung Smart TV no longer has a picture. Both of these products are around three years old. I guess planned obsolescence is Samsung's top priority. I will not be replacing either of my products with another Samsung and will tell anyone who will listen about their substandard crap. Well, off to find some more sites to vent!

Dear Sam-Strung,

I have lived with your giant POS blu-Ray player for a while. While it was something cool, and something that fit the bill. That thing never worked correctly. During purchased movies, I would get cinava sound shut down. (Good thinking using that as a pirate deterrent. I don't think that has stopped anyone from pirating, AND, I am sure by now there are work arounds). If it wasn't cinava, it was the random stopping, rebooting and then completely forgetting everything it was doing. Net-flix..yeah right. That button on the remote was the exact same size as the play button. The placement on said Netflix button..perfect. Everyone wants to put in a blu-ray, and hit the netflix button. Still, it would eventually stop streaming netflix, and reboot.

Needles to say, I have broke those bonds as of today. I replaced you with something else that is working. The next stop for said blu-ray player. The shooting range. I have all kinds of ways I am going to obliterate that thing from this world. May the guy who invented this thing, and designed the remote, receive inflamed bleeding hemorrhoids, to which the only cure is to have an over size butt plug rammed up his ass repeatedly..then have each toe cut off, with a butter knife, by a 90 yr old man.

I will never..EVER purchase a Samsung, Samsung sponsored device, phone, tv, blue ray , dvd, car, satellite, computer, submarine, or anything I find out that has samsung tied to it in any way.

I cannot believe the LACK of customer service I received from Samsung. I purchased a Samsung Smart TV in October (2015) that I gave as a gift at Christmas. Once the gift was opened and the TV was being assembled, the recipient noticed that the power cord was missing from the box. After unsuccessfully attempting to make contact with Samsung via the website and phone (put on hold for up to 10 minutes and then disconnected), I finally was able to reach someone in customer service. And, what was the response?

"I am very sorry for the inconvenience. I see your delivery date was 10/09/2015. Unfortunately, any missing part would need to be reported within the first 30 days of purchase. If you would like to purchase a power cable you can do this here. http://www.samsungparts.com/Products/Parts_and_Accessories/UN32J5205AFXZA/Default.aspx
Please let me know if you have any other questions."

Thank you.

Ummmm....where does it state that missing parts have to be reported within 30 days of purchase? It was reported within 30 days of being given as a gift at Christmas. Why would I pay TWICE for parts that should have been included in the box in the first place? What kind of company tries to hold a customer responsible for its mistakes? As a long-time Samsung customer, I, seriously, am going to re-think any future Samsung purchases.

I bought a dryer July 2015 for $524. My ex just had to have the "latest" and "greatest" even though our Maytag worked just fine. Now (Feb 2017) it's out of warranty and I just had to pay $290 to have a new heating element installed.

My Kenmore worked 20 years and I replaced it only because I moved; My Maytag worked 10 years and I replaced it only because my ex insisted we buy this piece of trash.

Don't buy Samsung appliances. I think they're built to last just until the warranty expires.

I wrote a letter to the president of samsung NA about 3 worthless appliances. I got back a canned response from a powerless minion.

The three items of Samsung I owned, all less than 5 years old. No other brand has failed so quickly (I'm 55 BTW)

Washer recalled: replaced by a cheaper Whirlpool, louder but cleans clothes better.
HDTV died, first of 12 that died by its own accord.
Refrigerator, door shelves break every 6 months. 44 bucks apiece.

There is no cost advantage to Samsung but maybe a year ROI.
